Irene Markham Plummer

Mrs. Irene Wilson Markham Plummer, age 87 of South Main Street, Denton, NC died Friday, October 30 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday at First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Vern Peterson and Rev. Bill Foust. Burial will follow in the Denton Town Cemetery. Mrs. Plummer was born July 31, 1922 in Pittsylvania County to John William Wilson and Betty Norton Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She was first married to Clarence Markham who died in 1983. She later married Don Plummer, Sr. who died in 1999. She was also preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Joanne and Josephine, a son, Lee Markham; by 4 brothers and 6 sisters; and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by Sons, Earl Lawrence Markham, K. Wayne Markham and James Markham all of Denton; by Daughters, Jean Hunt, Janice Kindley, Brenda Plummer and Betty Essick all of Denton and Angie Warren of Thomasville; a sister, Dot Bailey of Denton. 24 Grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
