Mr. Ira (Bill) Evans Rash, age 89 of Denton, NC died Wednesday, October 31 at Thomasville Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, November 4 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel by Elder John Draper and Elder David Anderson. Interment will be at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Rash was born May 5, 1918 in Wilkes County to Ira Melvin and Martha Bumgarner Rash. He had worked at Councill Craftsman and Pilot View Woodworks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Garner Rash on October 19, 2007 and by two grandchildren, Andrea Meredith and Alan Rash. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Rash and Robert Rash and by two sisters, Minnie Wyatt and Ada Miller. Mr. Rash is survived by sons, Gary Lee Rash and wife Anita of Thomasville, Phillip Ray Rash and wife Shelby of Indian Trail, and Charles Evans Rash and wife Jane of Lexington and by daughters, Deane McDowell and husband Ted of Trinity and Myra Younts of Taylorsville, seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
