Imogene "Jean" Hudson Monroe

Imogene Hudson Monroe, 83, of Roslyn Rd., Troy, died Friday, August 19, 2011 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Monday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Troy with Rev. Jerry Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in the Wadeville Baptist Church Cemetery. Born on October 16, 1927, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of Henry Winston and Anna Simpson Hudson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clee Monroe, Jr and a son, Sam Frank Monroe. She is survived by 2 daughters, Cathy Maness of Star and Donna Davis of Kings Mountain; 2 sons, Johnny Monroe of Troy and Tony Monroe of Lynchburg,VA; 2 sisters, Helen Davis of Rockingham and Evelyn Kearns of Mt. Gilead; 3 brothers, Travis Hudson and Bobby Hudson, both of Mt. Gilead and Edgar Hudson of Statesville; 9 Grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Kelly Burrow, Kecia Lucas, Joseph Maness, Sammy Monroe, Steven Monroe, Anthony Monroe, Ashleigh Monroe and Caleb Monroe; 4 Great-grandchildren, Jonathan Lucas, Tyler Smith, Layla Smith and Caydence Burrow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Troy and other times at the residence of Cathy Maness, Okeeweemee Rd., Star.
