Imogene Hardister

Mrs. Imogene Gallimore Hardister, age 88 of Burney Mill Road, Troy, NC died Tuesday, September 8 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A private service for the family will be held Saturday at Eleazer Church conducted by Rev. Derald Smith and Rev. Jimmy Wansley.

A public graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, September 12 at Eleazer Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hardister will lie in state at Briggs Funeral Home from 3:00 until 7:00 PM Friday September 11. The family will be at the residence on Burney Mill Road, Troy

Mrs. Hardister was born September 10, 1931 in Guilford County to T. Moody Gallimore and Esther Cooper Gallimore. She was a member of Eleazer Church where she had served for many years as Secretary/Treasurer. She had also served as the Methodist Charge Secretary/Treasurer. She was a retired self-employed Beautician. She was married to Charles Stanley Hardister who died June 4, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, by a daughter-in-law, Lynn Hardister; a son-in-law ,Rev. Jeff Lamb; and brothers, T. Raymond Gallimore and Carlton Gallimore.

She is survived by a son, Randy C Hardister and wife Karen of Denton; Lynn Hardister Lamb Edwards and husband Jim of Troy and Gail Hardister Walker and husband David of Denton; brothers, Dwight Gallimore of Denton and Jerry Gallimore and wife Marie of Lexington; sisters Nancy Harris of Denton and Ann Smith and husband James of Lexington; grandchildren, Christy Simpson and husband Chris, Daniel Walker, Thomas Lamb and wife Kari, Lindsay Lamb Cox, Matthew Hardister and wife Heather, Adam Hardister and wife Stacy, Andrew Hardister and wife Meredith, Danielle Whitley and Addison Whitley; 12 great grandchildren.
