Ila Garren

Mrs. Ila Loflin McDowell Garren age 81 of Pleasant Union Road, Denton, NC died Monday, Feb. 13 at Randolph Health and Rehabilitation in Asheboro after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Garren was born Nov. 11, 1924 in Randolph County to Will and Flora Cameron Loflin. She worked in Hosiery. She was preceded in death by her first husband Reggie McDowell on Feb. 17, 1978 and second husband Lee Garren June 10, 1996. She is survived by a son David McDowell of Trinity, step-sons Bill Garren of GA. And Herman Garren of Asheboro, a daughter Mary Fine of the home and a step-daughter Celia Jane Ballard of Ramseur. A brother Lee Loflin of Denton. She has 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at High Rock Baptist church conducted by Rev Ray Swaney. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Church Cemetery The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Other times at the residence.
