Hubert Richard Hamilton, Jr, 68, of Old Mountain Road Lexington died Thursday December 27, at Forsyth Regional Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral service will be Monday, December 31, at 2:30 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lori Anne Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hamilton was born February 6, 1939 in Davidson County to Hubert and Viola Dennis Hamilton, Sr. He was a retired employee of PPG after 27 year of service. Mr. Hamilton was a member of Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Hamilton is survived by his mother, Viola Dennis Hamilton of Linwood; wife, Nelva Jean Loflin Hamilton of the home; son, James (Jimmy) R. Hamilton and wife Kristy of Tyro; brother Larry D. Hamilton and wife Mary of Linwood; sister Joyce Shattuck and husband Dave of Charlotte; one grandchild Micheal Mahnken; three step-grandchildren Eden Long, Aaron Long, and Moriah Long, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday December 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home on Old Mountain Road in Lexington.
