Helen S Weaver

Ms. Helen Shropshire Weaver, 90, of N. Shoreline Dr., New London, NC passed away on Monday, Aug. 27 at her residence.   A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, Aug. 30 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Derald Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Springfield Friends Meeting Cemetery in High Point.   Ms. Weaver was born March 19, 1928 to Avery and Mamie Shropshire. She worked as a registered nurse with Moses Cone Hospital and was a member of Springfield Friends Meeting House in High Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Weaver and daughters, Kimberly Leonard.   Survivors include, son-in-law, Terry Leonard of New London; daughter, Susan Harrison (Steve) of Thomasville; sisters, Jackie Stroud (Leonard) and Mildred Phillips all of Archdale; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.   The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.   Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital PO Box 1893 Memphis, TN 38101-9950.
