Helen Watkins Peacock

Helen Watkins Peacock, 86, of Denton Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 14, at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Workman officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Helen was born in Bryson City, NC on November 3, 1936, to Hobert Watkins and Bonnie Nichols Watkins. She was a member of Community Baptist Church. Helen worked for General Paper in High Point for 20 years and later went to work Mountain Vista Health Park where she was a housekeeping supervisor until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. “Lefty” Peacock, a brother Ronnie, and by sisters, Kathleen, and Virginia.

She is survived by son, Steve Peacock and his wife Cindy of Denton; daughter, Kim McElroy and her husband Johnny of Lexington; brother, Richard Watkins of Newton; sister, Linda Frank of TN; 3 grandchildren, Camille Peacock, Jordan Peacock, and Brett McElroy; 1 great-grandchild, Maggie Peacock.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Denton Rd.
