Helen Lowdermilk Hall

Helen Simmons Lowdermilk Hall, 100, of Matthews, formerly of Candor and Pinehurst, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Mrs. Hall was born February 17, 1915 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Minnie Dunn Simmons. She was a graduate of Candor High School, where she met and later married Hoyle Lowdermilk. She was an active member of Candor Presbyterian Church and a homemaker. Following Mr. Lowdermilk’s death, she moved to Pinehurst, where she became a devout member of Pinehurst Village Chapel. In Pinehurst, she met and married Millard L. Hall who also preceded her in death. Helen will be remembered for her love of family, friends, flower gardens and her church. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her siblings. Surviving are her children, Elizabeth Lowdermilk Whitfield (Owen H.) of Charlotte and Hoyle Lowdermilk of Knightdale; 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandhcildren. At Mrs. Hall’s request, graveside services were held privately at the Candor Cemetery.
