Helen Harris Green

Helen Lucille Holder Harris Green, 92, of Candor, died Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Richmond County Hospice Haven in Rockingham.  Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Monday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home, with Rev. Wayne Luck officiating.  Burial will follow in the Candor Cemetery.   Born on December 14, 1927 in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of William Samuel and Mary Gladys Leach Holder.  She was a member of Candor Presbyterian Church and had owned a beauty shop.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Vannie Harris in 1969, 2 sons, Daniel Bruce Harris and John Kevin Harris, her second husband, Kermit Green, and 3 sisters, Mary Aileen Johnson, Runell Williams, and Maxine Holder.   She is survived by her son, William Barry Harris and wife Mary of Candor; sister, Mable DeWitt of Barney GA; grandson, William Brad Harris of Rock Hill SC.   The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM prior to the service Monday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Presbyterian Church, Food Ministry, PO Box 340, Candor NC  27229.   Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
