Hazel Thomas Perry

Hazel Coleen Thomas Perry, 90, of Perry Drive, Candor, NC passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Billy Glover officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Ms. Perry was born December 21, 1929 in Montgomery County to Claude Thomas and Carrie Hunsucker Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ben Leslie Perry and brother, Claude Thomas, Jr.

She is survived by sons, Leslie Thomas Perry (Vivian) of Candor, Wendell Earl Perry (Patricia) of Candor, and Kevin Sinclair Perry (Wanda) of Ellerbe; daughter, Karen Perry Hight  (Peter) of Macon; 10 grandchildren; 1 step-grandson; 15 great-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and 3 step great-great-grandchildren.
