Haydee Adams

Mrs. Haydee Torres Adams, age 76 of South NC Highway # 109, Lexington, NC died Tuesday, August 25 at Mountain Vista Health Park. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 23 at Fairview United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Sandy Young. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Briggs Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence. Mrs. Adams was born January 4, 1939 in Columbia, South America. She held a graduate degree in Nursing from Columbia University in New York and was a registered nurse. She had worked at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She had also served as a medical Missionary in Brazil for 5 years. She served as a mentor in local public schools. She was an accomplished artist and grew roses as a hobby. She lived in Winston Salem for 29 years and in 1997 moved to Davidson County to her husbands homeplace. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Adams of the home; a sister of Columbia, South American; sister-in-laws, Nancy Dunn of Calhoun, Ga, Rebecca Rivero of McLean, Va, Diane Bell (Curtis) of Kernersville, Rosa Melton (James) of Angier.
