Gurnie Edison Greene, Jr

Gurnie Edison Greene, Jr., 65, of NC Hwy 24/27, Eagle Springs, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at his residence.  Memorial Services will be held at a later date.   Born in Randolph County on October 22, 1952, he was the son of Gurnie Edison and Willie Mae Small Greene.  He was a retired bean cleaner operator with Luck’s Beans.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Greene, and a stepdaughter, Carolyn Williams Hussey.   He is survived by his wife, Helen Williams Greene of the home; his parents, Gurnie and Willie Mae Greene; step-daughter, Marie Williams Ryan of Robbins; step-son, Vernon Freeman of Moundsville WV; brother, Roger Dale Greene of Asheboro; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.   Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is assisting the Greene family with arrangements.
