Gumercindo Ramirez, 77, of Hoover Lane, Biscoe, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 5, 2021 at Our Lady of the Americas Catholic Church, officiated by Father Ricardo Sanchez. Burial will follow in the Biscoe Cemetery. Masks are required and it is asked that you observe social distancing. Born in Tlachichilco, Mexico on January 13, 1944, he was the son of Victor Islas Lopez and Rufino Ramirez Hernandez. He had worked over 25 years at Klaussner Furniture, and was a member of Our Lady of the Americas Catholic Church. He is survived by 5 sons, Antonio Islas Zepeta, Celso Islas Zepeta, both of Biscoe, Santos Islas Zepeta and Leoncio Islas Zepeta, both of Candor, and Gumercindo Islas Zepeta Jr. of Mexico; 3 daughters, Humberta Islas Zepeta and Maribel Islas Zepeta, both of Biscoe and Yaralet Islas Zepeta of Star; 1 brother and 2 sisters; 29 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren. Mr. Ramirez will lie in state for viewing on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, masks are required in the funeral home, and attendance size will be observed. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the Ramirez Family.
