Grover Edward Goins

Mr. Grover Edward Goins, age 80, of Sexton Rd., Denton died Sunday, February 3 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. A memorial service for Mr. Goins will be 3:00 pm Saturday, February 16 at Briggs Memorial Chapel with Rev. Vern Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Saturday, prior to the service, at Briggs Funeral Home Mr. Goins was born August 6, 1932 in Surry County to Samuel George and Lou Myrtle Reynolds Goins. He had worked for Miller Mechanical and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Goins is survived by his wife Mary Shepard Goins of the home, one son Bruce Scott Goins of Lexington, two daughters, Sybil Jane Goins Redmon and Mary Ann Goins Simmons, both of Denton, four brothers, Bobby Goins of Denton, Larry Goins and Junior Goins, both of Rockingham and Gary Goins of Hamlet, two sisters, Delphia Rouse and Marie Britt, both of Candor, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
