Greg Carroll

Phillip Gregory “Greg” Carroll, 65, of Forest Hill Dr., Denton, NC passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, Feb. 14, at Lineberry United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chris Smith, Rev. Claudie Harrison, and Rev. Charlie Collins officiating.

Mr. Carroll will lie in state on Saturday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

Greg was born July 22, 1955, in Rowan County to the late William Donald Carroll and Dorothy Leona Russell Carroll. He was a graduate of Denton High School Class of 1973. For many years Greg was self-employed in the Grading industry and most recently he had been employed with Handy Sanitary District. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and had attended Lineberry United Methodist Church as well as Holly Grove Lutheran Church in Lexington.

He is survived by daughters, Meagan Murphy and husband Kyle of Kannapolis and Abbie Carroll of Denton; son, Cameron Carroll of Denton; step-mother, Ronda Miller Carroll of Denton; brother, Eric Carroll of Denton; sisters, Dana Carroll of Thomasville and Donella Jarman of Hillsborough; 2 grandchildren, Ava and Lincoln Murphy.
