Grace Garner

Mrs. Grace Woodle Garner, age 93 of Mountain Vista Health Park and formerly of NC Hwy # 47, Denton, NC died Monday, January 11 at Mountain Vista. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Thursday, January 14 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Derald Smith. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Garner was born March 27, 1916 in Surry County to Clayton Woodle and Neely smith Woodle. She was a retired employee of Burlington Industries Denton Plant and was of Baptist faith. She was married to James Lewis Garner who died in 1988. She was also preceded in death by a son, J. D. Garner. She is survived by a son, Charles L Garner and wife Sherry of Denton; daaughters, Pat G Baker and husband Grey of Denton and Lillian G Owens of Lexington; brothers Don Woodle of Lexington, and Garl Woodle of Denton; a sister Lucy Klass of Suffock, Va.; 7 graandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. The family will see friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of the daughter Pat Baker on Sturdivant Road or the son Charles Garner on NC Hwy # 47.
