Grace Gallimore Davis

Mrs. Grace Gallimore Davis, age 96 of Daniel Street, Denton, NC died Friday, August 29 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 31 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and at other times will be at the residence on Daniel Street. Mrs. Davis was born in Davidson County September 6, 1917 to Coy Gallimore and Nancy Snider Gallimore. She was a homemaker, and a member of Hoover’s Grove Wesleyan Church. She was married to Jacob A. (Jake) Davis who died March 23, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Davis Markham who died February 23, 2009. She was the last surviving child having been preceded in death by brothers, Dale Gallimore, Ernest Gallimore, Mood Gallimore, Mose Gallimore and Bill Gallimore and by sisters, Ersley Hughes, Media Gordon, Arlena Barker and Emma Lou Tartaglia She is survived by a son, Terry Davis and wife Freda of Salisbury; son-in-law, Lawrence Markham of Denton; grandchildren, Allen Markham of Denton, Randall Markham of Lexington; Darlene Varner, Judy Cagle and husband Joe, Leslie Ridge and husband Daniel all of Denton and Anthony Morrow; great grandchildren, Megan Snider, Ashley Markham, Avery Markham, Eli Varner, Tabitha Owenby, Brandon Markham and Jacob Markham; great- great grandchildren, Kaylee Snider and Madison Ligon.
