Golda Weddington

Mrs. Golda Skeen Weddington, age 82 of Denton Road, Denton, NC died Saturday, Sept 10 at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, September 13 at First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Vern Peterson. Burial will follow in the Denton Town Cemetery. Mrs. Weddington was born October 12, 1928 in Davidson County to John Skeen and Edna Snider Skeen. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Denton Elementary School. She was married to James C. Weddington who died June 4, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by sisters, Opal Cole and Pride Gallimore. She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Weddington Hayes and husband Glenn and a granddaughter Jacqueline London Elizabeth Hayes all of Denton.
