Glessie Thompson Smith

Ms. Glessie Thompson Smith, age 88, formerly of Tom’s Creek Church Road, Denton, NC died Wednesday, September 6 at Lexington Healthcare.   A graveside service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9 at Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. Flynn Richardson officiating.   The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Briggs Funeral Home prior to the graveside service on Saturday.   Ms. Smith was born February 18, 1929 in Harlan County, Kentucky to James Arthur Thompson and Easter Viola Robbins Thompson. She worked at Burlington Industries and was a member of Summerville Baptist Church. Glessie was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Colon Smith, son, Grady Dwayne Smith, daughter, Brenda Louise Smith, and sisters, Mary Early, Goldie Green, Rossie Harris, and Della Poff.   Surviving is, half-brothers, James E.
