Glenn Evans Hughes

Glenn Evans Hughes, 94, of Valley Farm Rd,, Denton, NC passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at his residence.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 10, at Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery.

Mr. Hughes was born April 21, 1928, Davidson County to Lonnie Hughes and Mattie Hulin Hughes. He was of the Baptist faith and had been a logger his entire life. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Payton; brothers, William, Charlie, and Bobby Hughes; sisters, Susie Kinney and Vider Garren.

He is survived by sons, Mike Hughes of Denton and Johnny Hughes of Sophia; daughter, Sharon Amburgey of VA, brother, Roy Hughes; sister, Beulah Hughes; 8 grandchildren, Chris Hughes, April Hughes, Richard Hughes, Johnny Hughes, Josh Hughes, Angela, Tabitha Bryson, and Mike Mintz; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Mike Hughes on Valley Farm Rd.
