Mr. Glenn Wilson Cagle age 94, of Volunteer Rescue Rd., Denton passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at his residence. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at New Hope United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Joe Conley, Rev. Jack Luther, and Rev. J. Harold Hammond. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Cagle was born March 10, 1922 in Randolph County to William Reid Cagle and Betty Black Cranford Cagle. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Glenn was a farmer and owner of Cagle Sawmill. Also Glenn was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Cagle on July 1, 2014; brothers, John and Paul Cagle; sisters, Nora Smith and Polly Boyles. Surviving are sons, Roger Cagle (Amanda), Harold Cagle (Carolyn), Lawrence Cagle (Carolyn), Joe Cagle (Judy); daughters, Donna Miller (Marlon) and Rhonda Doby (Ernest) all of Denton; brother, Dyle Cagle (Martha) of Denton; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
