Gil "Gilbo" Martin

Gil “Gilbo” Allen Martin, 68, of Heels Court, Lexington, NC passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Johnny Henderson and Neil Latham officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

“Gilbo” was born on May 16, 1956, in Davidson County, the son of Brack Gilbert Martin and Wanda Sullivan Martin. He was a graduate of Denton High School and a member of First Baptist Church. Until his retirement “Gilbo” was the owner and operator of Handi Stop Jewelry Shop in Denton. Gil loved Harley-Davidson and Big Dog motorcycles as he had owned both. He loved living at the lake where he enjoyed fishing, riding his jet ski, and his pontoon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brack Gilbert Martin; brothers, Timothy Martin and Jimmy Wayne Martin.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Alice Endozo Martin of the home; his mother, Wanda Sullivan Martin of Denton whom he loved dearly; his beloved canine companion, Roscoe; cousins, Johnny, Ricky, Donna, Neil, and Steve; and lots of good friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Wanda Martin of Farmer Rd. The family request that those in attendance come in casual attire.
