Gerald Franklin Glover, 68, of Yarborough Rd., died Saturday, November 30, 2019 at his residence. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Pleasant Hill UMC, with Rev. Eric Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Montgomery County on March 7, 1951, he was the son of Therese Edward and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Glover. He was a mechanic. Gerald loved his family and his truck. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Maxine Blake and Betty Jean Glisson and a brother, Jimmy Harold Glover. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Wilkes Glover of the home; son, Jimmy Glover and wife Tina of Candor; 4 brothers, Curtis Glover of West End, Ronnie Glover and Stevie Glover, both of Jackson Springs, and Daryl Glover of Farmer; 2 sisters, Barbara Ingram of Ellerbe and Helen Griffin of Jackson Springs; 2 grandchildren, Ian Glover and Adam Glover; 1 great-grandchild, Salen Glover; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence of his son, Jimmy Glover, 1116 Tabernacle Baptist Church Rd., Candor Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill UMC, c/o Dorothy Thomas, 1212 Mill Rd., Jackson Springs NC 27281.
