Mr. Lewis Eugene “Gene” Andrews, age 73 of Asheboro, NC died Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro following a lengthy illness A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, Nov. 12 at Liberty Fellowship Church conducted by Rev. James Draughn. Burial with Military Honors by the Randolph County Memorial Honor Guard will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Andrews was born November 17, 1935 in Davidson County to Lewis Reid Andrews and Flaudie Varner Andrews. He was a member of Liberty Fellowship Church where he had served as a Deacon. He had worked at Heritage Furniture Company in High Point, Bruce Hardwood Flooring and had been self-employed in mobile home repair. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp serving during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Max Andrews. Mr. Andrews is survived by his wife Helen Cranford Andrews of the Home, a son Lenny Andrews and wife Patricia of Asheboro; a sister Faye Andrews Whitt and husband Mike of Denton and several Nieces and Nephews. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
