Gary Lee Russell

Gary Lee Russell, 65, of Denton died Tuesday, May 31 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A Memorial Service for Mr. Russell will be 11:30 am Saturday, June 4 at Briggs Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Moses officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am, prior to the service, at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mr. Russell was born September 22, 1945 in Randolph County to Wade Harley and Lola Emmaline Rushing Russell. He was owner of Russell Air in Denton and was a member of First Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Amvets Post #240. He is survived by daughters, Danielle “Dani” Russell Fleming and husband Josh of Hickory and Michelle “Shelly” Russell and husband Eddie Hill of Salisbury, one brother, Jackie Russell of Roanoke, VA, two sisters, Nancy Russell Gordon and husband Tony of Thomasville and Lynn Russell Rhyne and husband Joe of Mt. Holly, six grandchildren, Kristin Fleming, Jakob Fleming, Brandon Fleming, Logan Fleming, Dameon Hill and Lelu Hill. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292
