Mr. Fred Leo Woods, age 55, of Denton died Sunday, August 21 at Thomasville Medical Center. Funeral service for Mr. Woods will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 24 at Denton Wesleyan Church with Rev. Charlie Collins and Rev. Charles Moses officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home on Grubb Drive. Mr. Woods was born July 16, 1956 in Guilford County to Bruce Leo and Peggy Lee Blakley Woods. He was a graduate of Trinity High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Denton Wesleyan Church and worked as an electrical service technician. Mr. Woods is survived by his wife Lucy Vanhoy Woods of the home, one son, Erick Woods of Lexington, three daughters, Carol Gardner of Denton, Holly Stevenson of Trinity and Hope Dunbar of Denton, one brother, Randy Hackaday of Winston-Salem and one sister, Judy Foraker of Delaware and nine grandchildren.
