Mr. Fred Carson Peacock, Jr. age 83 of North Main Street, Denton, NC died Friday, February 17 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, February 19 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Peacock was born August 27, 1928 in Guilford County to Fred Carson Peacock, Sr and Mary Lucille Little Peacock. He was a lifelong farmer and had owned and operated P & H Livestock Company where he bought and sold livestock. He also at one time owned and operated a gas station and store. He had an avid interest in Politics and the sport of Boxing. He was a devoted son to his mother and father and provided care for his mother who lived to be 100 years old. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Peacock who died in 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Susan P Cook of Winston-Salem; a daughter-in-law, Dona M Peacock of Salisbury; and grandchildren. Andrew Cook, Caroline Cook, Will Cook, Austin Peacock and Aaron Peacock. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1697, Lexington, NC 27293 or to Kate B.
