Fred Ray Parrish, age 88, of Old Hwy. 109, Lexington died early Friday morning, April 23 at Thomasville Medical Center. Funeral service for Mr. Parrish is 2:00 pm Sunday, April 25 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Karen Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military graveside rites. Mr. Parrish was born July 28, 1921 in Davidson County to Walter and Bessie Elam Parrish. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army Air Force. He was owner of Parrish Hosiery and attended Cid United Methodist Church. Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by a son, Dallas Ray Parrish and grandson, Mikey Parrish. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Brower Parrish of the home, son, Larry Parrish and wife Brenda of Denton, daughters, Vickie Hunt and husband Randell of Denton and Sandra Harris Curry and husband David of Lexington, one sister Christine Arnold of Lexington, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
