Fred Clifton Bean

Mr. Fred Clifton Bean, age 83, of NC Hwy. 8, Denton died Sunday, November 21 at Randolph Hospital. Funeral service for Mr. Bean will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 24 at Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. Tom McLean and Rev. Flynn Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mr. Bean was born August 20, 1927 in Davidson County to Robins and Jessie Eller Bean. He was a graduate of Denton School and Ashemore Business School. He was a member of Summerville Baptist Church where he had served on the Deacon Board and was a member of the church choir. He had also been a volunteer of the Healing Springs Fire Department. He had worked at Central Carolina Bank in Denton, Lexington State Bank, as a property tax appraiser with Davidson County, Davidson EMC and did the same work in other counties. He was preceded in death by brothers, Benny Bean, Johnny Bean and William Bean and sisters, Kathleen Frye and Lissie Bean. Mr. Bean is survived by his wife, Dora Ella Huss Bean of the home, brothers, Calvin Bean and Jacob Bean, of Denton, sister, Opal Bean Shaw of Denton and several nieces and nephews.
