Franky Owens

Mr. Franky Lee Owens, 53, of S. Snider St., Denton passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Grubb’s Grove Church of God Cemetery..

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.

Mr. Owens was born August 30, 1965 in Randolph County to James Alton Owens and Nora Carlton Owens. He was of the Baptist Faith and had worked in paving and the furniture industry. In addition to his parents Franky was also preceded in death by brothers, Roger, Lonnie, and Junior Ray Owens.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Cody Owens of the home; son, Franklin “Buster” Cody of Trinity; daughters, Tina Fire of Denton, Tonya Mabry of Lexington, and Tiffany Owens of Denton; sisters, Sylvia Owens, Brenda Hoffman both of South Carolina, Betty Gore of Ashe, Linda Rogers of South Carolina, and Janet Hughes of Lexington; and 12 grandchildren.
