Frances Surratt

Mrs. Frances Goins Surratt age 82, of Flat Swamp Rd. Denton died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at WFU Lexington Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, Nov. 30 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Jack Luther. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Surratt was born August 17, 1932 in Randolph County to James A. Goins and Maggie Peele Goins. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Denton and worked as a seamstress. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Surratt. Surviving are, son; Lin Gallimore of Denton; daughter, Denise Lanier (Jay) of Denton; brothers, Jimmy Goins (Hilda) of Lexington and Bobby Goins of Thomasville; sisters, Betty Sue Faulkner (Larry) of Lexington, Bernice Benton of Lexington, and Nancy Futrell (Gilbert) of Denton; grandchildren, Lauren Moses (Andy) of Newton, David Lanier of Savannah, GA, and Ginger Morris (Eric) of Denton; great-granddaughter, Tae Moses. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Denise Lanier on Handy Rd., Denton.
