Mrs. Frances Smith Harrison, age 92, formerly of Loftin Road, Denton, NC died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Lexington. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, April 15 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church on Loftin Road, Denton conducted by Rev. Richard Gould and Rev. Scott Davis. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will see friends on Saturday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church from 2:00 until 4:00 prior to the service. Mrs. Harrison was born September 26, 1924 in Davidson County to William Early Smith and Oleta Younts Smith. She had been employed with Thornton Hosiery Mill and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where she taught the Youth Sunday School Class for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Herlie Alton Harrison, sisters Willie Mae Smith Harrison and Edna Smith Fritts and a granddaughter Susan Elaine (Suzy) Harrison. She is survived by sons Tony Herlie Harrison and wife Debbie of Lexington and Ronnie Smith Harrison and wife Virginia of Denton; daughters Frances Carol Jarrell and husband Clyde and Shirley Mae Tysinger and husband Vernon all of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; and a brother William (Bill) Smith and wife Rose Mary of Columbia, SC. Frances devoted her life serving family and friends. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
