Frances Robinson Gant

Rock Hill Mrs. Frances Robinson Gant, 85, formerly of Candor, died Sunday at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Candor UMC with Rev. Pat Sykes and Rev. David Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill UMC Cemetery. Born September 6, 1924 in Montgomery County, Mrs. Gant was the daughter of Odell and Mamie Kellis Robinson. She was a retired sales representative with Candor Hosiery Mill and was a graduate of Candor High School. Mrs. Gant was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Preston Gant. She is survived by her daughter, Kaye Hamilton of York, SC; a son, Jay Hamilton of Rock Hill, SC; a sister, Inez Comer of Asheboro; 2 brothers, Leroy Robinson of Charlotte and Hoyle Robinson of Orlando, FL; 3 Grandchildren; 4 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service on Thursday at Candor UMC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Communtiy Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill SC 29731.
