Frances Weld Campbell, 83, of Wallace Ave, Troy, died Monday at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matthew Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Born on June 13, 1928 in Moore County, she was the daughter of Ernest and Grace Lewis Weld. She was a dietitian at Samarkand Manor and the valedictorian of the Biscoe High School class of 1945. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Campbell in 1992, her parents, and 2 sisters, Jean Pittman and Tinky Hill. She is survived by 2 sons, Larry Campbell and wife Donna of Fuquay-Varina, and Phillip Campbell and wife Sue of Garner; a daughter, Susan Watkins and husband Chris of Troy; a brother, Glen Weld of Georgia; 4 sisters, Carley Moss and Barbara Phillips, both of Wilson, Geraldine Ferry of Massachusetts and Wynell Shaw of Troy; 6 Grandchildren; 6 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Susan Watkins, Byrd St., Troy.
