Florence Hughes Yates

Florence Hughes Yates, 83, of Grice Road died, February 16, 2016 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2016 at Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Flynn Richardson officiating. Born September 13, 1932 in Davidson County, she was the daughter of Everett and Eula Snider Hughes. She liked to quilt and was a member of Summerville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ashley Yates in 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Helen Yates Little and Sue Yates Griggs, both of Denton; a sister Delores Huffman of Thomasville; one grandchild, Curtis Ashley Bailey. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Briggs Funeral Home of Denton is handling the arrangements.
