Fern Mahood Owen

Mrs. Fern Anna Mahood Owen, 98, of Davis St., Troy, died Thursday at her residence. Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Monday at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Scott Finicum officiating. Born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 1, 1917, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Anna Mahood. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Troy. Her husband, Dr. James W. Owen preceded her in death in 1997. She is survived by her son, Patrick Owen of Apex; daughter, Jean Owen of the home and 1 grandchild. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at Trinity United Methodist Church from 3 to 5 PM following the graveside service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity UMC, 239 N. Russell St., Troy NC 27371 or to Shiloh UMC, PO Box 239, Troy NC 27371. Briggs Funeral Home of Troy is in charge of arrangements.
