Eva Hill

Mrs. Eva Jane Pierce Hill, age 92, of Denton died Wednesday, August 20 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, August 22, 2008 at Walters Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Simpson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hill was born February 29, 1916 in Guilford County to Ernest and Lillie Jackson Pierce. She was an active member of Walters Grove Baptist Church. She had worked at Hill Hosiery in Thomasville and cooked at Rick’s Restaurant, the Park-in Grill and The Classic in Denton. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee Hill who died in 1978 and brothers Ralph Pierce and Everett Pierce and sister, Glenna Taylor. She is survived by her daughter Faydene Hill Garner and husband Harold of Denton, brothers, Troy Pierce and Warren Pierce both of Lexington, Tiras Pierce of Thomasville, Elwood Pierce of Albemarle and Lacy Pierce of Asheboro, three grandchildren, Sheila Gallimore, Steve Garner and Scottie Garner, four great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
