Eula Hughes

Mrs. Eula Myers Hughes age 87, formerly of NC HWY 109 South, New London, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Pine Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville. A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday at Farmer Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Keith Letterman and Rev. Toney Parsons. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hughes was born January 14, 1926 in Davidson County to Howard Myers, Sr. and Lillian Shuler Myers. She was a member of Farmer Baptist Church where she was the church treasurer for 12 years and taught sunday school. She was a graduate of Fair Grove High School and Ashemore Business College. In addition to a homemaker she also was an accountant for her husband’s lumber business. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hughes on March 26, 2003 and by her brothers, Howard Myers, Jr. and James E. Myers. Survivors include, daughters; Hazel Hughes of the home and Janie Parsons an husband Toney of New London, grandchildren; Gregory Parson an wife Amy and Shala Parsons. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence. Memorials can be made to Farmer Baptist Church
