Eugene Lamonds

Mr. David Eugene Lamonds, age 83 of McCallum Road, Candor, NC died Saturday, May 1 2021 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 5 at Briggs- Candor Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Michael Free. Burial will follow in Candor Town Cemetery. Mr. Lamonds will lie-in-state on Tuesday May 4, 2021 from 3 to 5 PM at Briggs- Candor Funeral Home. Mr. Lamonds was born March 1, 1938 in Montgomery County to David Edgar Lamonds and Gladys Freeman Lamonds. He had been employed with Candor Oil Company as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, by a son, Randall Eugene Lamonds, by brothers, Herbert Lamonds and James Lamonds and by a sister Priscilla Evans. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Gail (Gwen) Ritter Lamonds of the home; a son, Rex Dean Lamonds of Candor; grandson, Brent Lamonds of Texas; great grandchildren Marcus and Jonathan; step-great-grandchild Aaron; brothers, Charles Edward Lamonds of Eagle Springs, Richard Lamonds of Biscoe, Hoyle Lamonds of Norman, Warren Lamonds of Mt. Gilead, Roger Lamonds of Candor, and Johnny Lamonds of Candor; sisters Eleanor Stutts and Millie Linville both of Candor.
