Mr. Eugene Lee Hughes, age 71 of Brantley Gordon Road, Denton, NC died Saturday, December 8 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 14 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Gerald Ward and Rev. Tom Mauldin. Burial with Masonic Graveside Rites will be at Siloam United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends at Briggs Funeral Home Friday, December 14 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to the service. Mr. Hughes was born May 7, 1947 in Randolph County to Felix Hughes and Susie Mae Hughes Hughes. He was a licensed Electrical Contractor and was President and owner of Denco, Inc. He was a member and past master of Denton Lodge # 404 AF & AM. He was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star where he had served as Worthy Patron and was a past District Deputy Grand Patron. He is survived by his wife, Terresa Austin Hughes of the home; sons, Jeremy Hughes of Albemarle, Benjamin Hughes and wife Holly and Matthew Hughes and wife Jamie all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Bailey, Luke, Sawyer, Colt, Lori, Mason, Gavin and Roman.
