Emory Leroy Craven, Sr.

Emory Leroy Craven, Sr., 82, of Hwy 220 Alt. S., Candor died Sunday, June 3, 2018 in Trinity.  Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Macedonia Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Matthew Baker officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   Born in Guilford County on May 4, 1936, he was the son of S.C. and Daisy Whitesell Craven.  He was a truck driver, retired from Old Dominion Freight Lines.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Madge Privett Craven and a daughter, Sherry Yvonne Bernistien.   He is survived by a son, Emory Craven, Jr. of Archdale; 2 daughters, Rebecca Kay Craven of Goldsboro and Elaine Jones and husband Shane of Trinity; 2 brothers, Gene Craven and C.C. Craven, both of High Point; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.   The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm prior to the service Wednesday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church.   Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point NC 27262.   Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
