As long as her health permitted, Mrs. Sink was an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and lead youth groups while Carter and Hilda were growing up. She worked both as a homemaker and outside the home. After retirement she continued to work part-time at Denton Eye Clinic for her nephew, Dr. Tony Cranford, which she enjoyed immensely until she stopped at age 81 to help take are of her husband Ray. After her son, Carter’s death she did volunteer work for Hospice of Randolph County. Well into her eighties she was driving friends and neighbors to appointments and giving of her time to others. She always enjoyed staying busy with needle work and was an excellent seamstress. There have been many knitted and crocheted items given to her family over the years and she sent many knitted sweaters to Knit for Kids organization. Without a doubt her greatest joy was her family. She always looked forward to spending time with them in their homes or hers. In her latter years, when she no longer traveled from home, she looked forward to family visits and she enjoyed watching from her windows as her family “played” at the farm. The family wises to thank Barbara Bean, Linda Cook, Nancy Cranford, Beverly Hogan, Janet Loflin, and Jan Watkins for the wonderful love and care given to Mrs. Sink over the years.
