Mrs. Elsie Myers Rogers age 78, of Bringle Ferry Rd., Denton died Friday, November 14, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, Nov. 16 at Lick Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Flynn Richardson and Rev. Johnny Daniel. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Rogers was born August 12, 1936 in Davidson County to Charlie Van Myers and Willer Cook Myers. She was a member of Lick Creek Baptist Church and had worked for Burlington Industries and the Denton Public Library. In addition to her parents Mrs. Rogers was also preceded in death by her sister Margie Loflin and brothers, Baxter, Wood, Hubert, and Allen Myers. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Bill Rogers of the home; son, Lewis Rogers (Tanya) of Denton; daughter, Ellen Rogers and Partner Suzanne Degges-White of DeKalb, Ill, grandchildren, Nicole, Georgia, David, and Andrew. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the residence of Bringle Ferry Rd.
