Elna Lee Morton

Ms. Elna Lee Shaw Morton age 86 of Heartleaf Trail, Denton died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at her son’s residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Calvary Gospel Church conducted by Rev. Don Jarrell and Rev. Melvin Morton. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Melvin Morton 7337 Charles Mountain Rd. Ms. Morton was born December 6, 1927 in Randolph County to Gus L. Shaw and Tishie Cranford Shaw. She was a member of Calvary Gospel Church and worked as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband M. Leon Morton on April 6, 1982 and by brothers; Worth, Vernon, Max, and Talton Shaw, sisters; Luna Hinson and Louie Hogan. Survivors include, son; Rev. Melvin Morton and wife Shelia of Denton, daughter; Wanda Faircloth and husband Arthur of Denton, sisters; Irene Hooker of Asheboro, Tennie Cornelison, and Betty Reeder both of Denton, 4 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
