Elizabeth Blake Mccallum

Mrs. Elizabeth Blake McCallum, 89, of Currie Rd., Candor, died Tuesday, July 03, 2012 at her residence. Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Candor Cemetery with Rev. Bill Mitchell and Mr. Jerry Brewer officiating. Mrs. McCallum was born in Montgomery County on March 9, 1923, the daughter of Lena Webb and Walter Preston Blake. She was a telephone operator, a member of Candor UMC and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Star Chapter 111. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Wayne McCallum in September, 1997. She is survived by 3 daughters, Libby Jordan and husband Greg of Candor, Carolyn McCallum of Candor and Sarah McCallum and husband Jim Mays of Fayetteville; a sister, Mary Hicks of Asheboro; a granddaughter, Blake McCallum Jordan; 2 stepgrandchildren, Kristy Hill and Jan Wooten. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside or at the McCallum residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Candor UMC, PO Box 456, Candor NC 27229 or to FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst NC 28374.
