Elizabeth Hughes

   Margaret Elizabeth “Liz” Hughes, 71, of Greenwood, SC, and formally of Denton, NC, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017.    Born in Denton, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Allison and Margaret Gaddy Hughes.   Liz was a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church in Greenwood, SC. She loved her family, church, and dogs and enjoyed arts and crafts. She is survived by two nephews, Allen Hughes and wife, Cecily, of Greenwood, SC, and Brad Hughes and wife, Traci, of Greenville, SC; five great nieces and nephews, Kathleen, Janie, and Margaret Ann Hughes, and Bradley and Allison Hughes; and special friends, Cindy Fitzgibbons, Janeth Bean and family, and Terry Creswell and family.  In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by a brother, David Allison Hughes.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Denton, with a visitation to follow. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowell Street United Methodist Church in Greenwood, SC with a visitation to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lowell Street United Methodist Church, 300 Lowell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.  Condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.thomasmcafee.com.Local arrangements by Briggs Funeral Home.
