Elder James Hubert (Jim) Moody age 92, formerly of Robbins Street, Lexington, NC died Sunday, June 28 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle. A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 2 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Elder Carlton Brown and Elder Lowell Hopkins. Burial with Military Honors will be at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church. The family will see friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home and at other times will be at their respective homes. Mr. Moody was born October 10, 1922 in Caldwell County to Ransom Moody and Lona Link Moody. He had worked as a deputy sheriff with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department and a police officer with the Denton Police Department and later worked with Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was an ordained Elder in the Primitive Baptist Faith and had served as Elder at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He was an avid Bible reader and enjoyed visiting people in Nursing Homes and fishing. His favorite past time was woodworking and restoring pump organs. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the AMVETS Post, the American Legion, and the VFW. He was a caregiver for his granddaughter Jamie when she was small. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Fulk Moody; sons, Robert Gray Moody and wife Terry Lynn of Keller, Texas, and David Henderson Moody and wife Belinda of Lexington; daughter Linda Albright and husband Charles of Badin Lake, New London; 6 grandchildren, Jamie, Jason, Kevin, Wendi, Kailey and Joshua; and 4 great grandchildren, Ashton, Hailey, Christian and Alisha.
