Effie Hughes Gearren

  Mrs. Effie Hughes Gearren, age 95 of NC Hwy # 109 South, New London, NC died Friday, May 18 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 21 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Eddie Hill. Burial will follow at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Eldorado.   The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home.   Mrs. Gearren was born April 28, 1923 in Davidson County to John Hughes and Elizabeth Loflin Hughes. She was a homemaker and was married to N Rayford Gearren who died February 4, 1993. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert Lee Hughes, Wade Hughes and Albert Hughes and by sisters Maggie Mae Hughes, Lula Hughes Swaney and Beulah Hughes.   She is survived by sons, Eugene Gearren  and  wife Donna and Danny Gearren all of New London; daughters, Dianne Carter and husband Rev. Edward Carter of Seagrove, Betty Hughes and husband Gilbert Hughes of Lexington and Brenda Gearren of Denton; grandchildren, Steven Hughes and wife Blia of Albemarle, Jeffery Bost of Climax, Keisha Schmidt, Ashley Snider and husband Lonnie and Joshua Gearren and wife Taylor all of Denton; great grandchildren, Dalton, Emma and Cameron Snider and Bryson Gearren.   Memorial may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203     Online condolences may be made at www.briggsfuneralhome.com
