Pinkney Edward Peacock, 85, of Garner Dr., Denton died Tuesday, August 5 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Ward, Rev. Hoyle Harrison, Rev. Coy Hepler, and Rev. Brandon Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with military honors by Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Peacock was born February 2, 1923 in Davidson County to Thomas Jefferson Peacock and Rosina Carrick Peacock. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He retired from PPG as a forklift operator. He enjoyed gardening and carpentry work. His wife Doris Garner Peacock preceded him in death. Survivors include, daughters; Gloria Saunders of Denton, Vivian Surratt of Denton, Connie Harrison and husband Hoyle of Lexington, and Joyce Hepler and husband Coy of Southmont, grandchildren (6) Michael Surratt, Alicia Luck, Joseph and Kevin Saunders, Shannon and Brandon Harrison and great grandchildren (7); Jennifer, Josh, and Sarah Saunders, Nathan Surratt, Ethan, and Andrew Harrison, Brent Luck, sisters; Leona Anderson of Lexington and Vada Cameron of China Grove, brother; Gerthie Peacock of Thomasville and step brother Harvey Owens of Southmont. The family will see friends on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton other times at the residence on Garner Dr..
